Living Your Faith: Bringing God’s Love into Your Routine

Ways to put your faith to work

“We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). When we choose to follow God, it means we are trusting Him to lead us in the right direction. It means taking steps of faith, even when things don’t make sense...even when we don’t see “the bigger picture.” “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Faith is believing and knowing in our hearts that it’s the right thing to do. Knowing what Faith is, is one thing, but putting your faith to work is another. When we’re praying and asking God for something, we don’t see it yet. But seeing with “the eye of faith” allows us to believe it before we ever see it come to pass. Faith enables us to believe things that may not make any sense to our natural minds. Living Your Faith: Bringing God’s Love into Your Routine with 5 practical steps that will help you put your faith to work:
  1. Read it “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.” Romans 15:5 Everything starts with the Word of God. Reading the Bible strengthens our faith, fills us with hope, and reminds us that change is possible. Hope is the foundation of faith. The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the stronger our faith becomes.
  2. Think it “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 Reading the Word is essential, but meditation is just as important. To meditate means to think deeply about God’s promises, allowing them to shape our thoughts and attitudes. Just as someone envisions themselves in a new outfit before purchasing it, we should see ourselves in the fulfillment of God’s promises. This practice transforms our mindset and aligns us with God’s will.
  3. Say it “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23 Faith has a language, and that language is rooted in God’s Word. Instead of speaking fear, doubt, or negativity, we must declare what God says about us. Our words shape our reality. When we speak faith-filled words, we align our thoughts and actions with God’s promises. The enemy will try to sow doubt, but we must hold fast to our confession—declaring God’s goodness and faithfulness over our lives.
  4. Do it "By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going." Hebrews 11:8 Carry it out. The works of faith involve acting on the word we are trusting. Faith requires action. James 2:17 reminds us that “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” If we truly believe God’s promises, our actions should reflect that belief. Whether it’s stepping out in obedience, giving generously, forgiving others, or taking bold steps toward our calling, faith is demonstrated through what we do.
  5. Stand on it “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:13 There will be times when our faith is tested, and we don’t see immediate results. In those moments, we must stand firm. Trusting God means refusing to waver, even when circumstances seem contrary to His promises. Standing in faith means continuing to believe, pray, and act in accordance with God’s Word, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
Faith is not passive—it is an active, living force that requires engagement. By reading, meditating, speaking, acting, and standing on God’s Word, we put our faith to work and invite His power into our lives. As we step out in faith, we will see His promises come to pass and experience the abundant life He has planned for us.
